Letter About starting
a musical journey.
Dear drummer,
Do you dream of playing your favorite songs, having a meaningful hobby, and making the music you love?
We hear THIS everyday from our students:
“My parents wouldn’t let me have a drumset.”
“I used to play music when I was younger but then college, career, and starting a family shifted my priorities.”
“It’s too late for me to get started.”
“I’m just not creative enough.”
“I don’t have the time.”
But, I’m here to say that you CAN take the steps to learn the instrument that calls to you and have fun while doing it. Here’s the truth, and I can say this because we’ve worked with hundreds of students thinking exactly the beliefs outlined above:
Anyone is capable of learning an instrument regardless of age and skill level.
Feeling like a musician is based on mindset and practice.
Performing and creating music is possible for any level musician.
With the right information, roadmap, community, and mentorship, any person can become a great musician.
But who am I?
Kyle Harris, Founder of Boston Drum Lessons
I’m a drummer, performer, and producer. I teach, play drumset with the Blue Man Group and am really focused on inspiring new musicians.
I started Boston Drum Lessons to help people develop their creativity and musicality with the drums. Our entire team of teachers works to educate, motivate, and inspire this idea.
My vision is to help student drummers build confidence in their ability to play and make music. Because I know you can do it.
All the information you need to become a great drummer is out there. But it’s freaking noisy. So much info, options, and directions.
I’m here to make things clear and easy. Because, with the right guide, you can progress on your musical journey with ease and more certainty.
If you’re ready to start drumming then book a free consultation with me. I know I can help create the right plan for you.
STUDENT TESTIMONIALS
“I WOULD RECOMMEND BOSTON DRUM LESSONS TO ANY DRUMMER AT ANY SKILL LEVEL LOOKING TO IMPROVE SPEED, TECHNIQUE, AND THEIR LIBRARY OF GROOVES AND FILLS. I PLAN ON WORKING WITH JOSH LONG-TERM TO TAKE MY CHOPS TO THE NEXT LEVEL.”
“I worked with Boston Drum Lessons for ~10 months. I took lessons from several different instructors during this period (all excellent! great teachers and wonderful drummers). The support team is terrific and offers a number of community options, recitals, email newsletters, a lesson/content portal, etc. They were easy to work with and bent over backwards to make my schedule work. Strongly recommend for anyone who’s interested in taking drum lessons!”
“I have been taking drum lessons here for more than a year. Kyle is an absolute pro as a teacher and a musician. Starting from absolute zero drum experience, he slowly explained everything to me. Lessons are cool, personally adjusted with great insights throughout. All the teachers and students are cool to talk to and play with at the numerous events. Strongly recommend! With variety of teachrs and approaches it’s very easy to pair up well.”
“I had been playing drums for years and decided to reach out to Boston Drum Lessons to level up my playing prior to a string of shows that I had. The direction that was given was simple, easy to implement and helped me to play better in just a few months. They really take the time to customize the lessons for any experience level and they make it fun! It can be overwhelming and frustrating trying to learn a new instrument, but the team at BDL makes it fun! Would highly recommend them.”
“Great model, great instructors, convenient location. I decided to start playing drums at age 41 and I knew that in-person lessons would help me set a stronger foundation than watching videos online. I was right, it was worth it, and I’d recommend BDL to anyone (of any age) thinking about learning.”
“I highly recommend Boston Drum Lessons. Three and a half years ago I walked through the doors never having picked up a drumstick and I am still happily taking lessons. My instructor, Josh, is fantastic. He is patient and encouraging, an excellent teacher and a great person. My lessons are a high point of the week for me. All of the instructors at BDL are outstanding and they welcome students of all ages and experience levels. Only good things to say about Boston Drum Lessons!”
